Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
1. Introduction
Parsely ("we," "our," or "us") is an AI-powered ticket generation service that turns unstructured content into structured tickets for project management platforms. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our service at parsely.sh.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture when you create an account or sign in via Google or GitHub.
- Content you provide — text, documents (PDF, Word), and images you upload for ticket generation.
- Generated tickets — the structured tickets our AI creates from your content, including titles, descriptions, acceptance criteria, and estimates.
- Platform connection data — OAuth tokens and project metadata when you connect third-party platforms (Jira, Linear, GitHub, Asana).
- Usage data— how you interact with the service, including pages visited, features used, and generation history.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the service — processing your content, generating tickets, and syncing them to your connected platforms.
- To improve the service — understanding usage patterns and optimizing the AI generation pipeline.
- To communicate with you — sending OTP verification codes, account notifications, and service updates via email.
- To maintain security — authenticating your identity and protecting against unauthorized access.
4. OAuth Token Handling
When you connect a third-party platform, we store OAuth access and refresh tokens to maintain your connection. These tokens are scoped to the minimum permissions required to read project metadata and create tickets. You can revoke any connection at any time from your Settings page, which immediately deletes the stored tokens.
5. Third-Party Integrations
Parsely integrates with the following platforms. When you push tickets, the relevant ticket data is sent to the connected platform via their API:
- Atlassian Jira — ticket data including descriptions in Atlassian Document Format (ADF) and file attachments.
- Linear— ticket data including titles, descriptions, labels, and estimates.
- GitHub— issue data including titles, descriptions, labels, and milestone assignments.
- Asana— task data including titles, descriptions, custom fields, and section assignments.
Each platform has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data received from Parsely. We encourage you to review them.
6. Data Storage
- Database— your account data, chat history, tickets, and connection metadata are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon.
- File storage— uploaded documents and images are stored in Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible object storage).
7. Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Session cookie — to authenticate your logged-in session. Essential for the service to function.
- Theme preference — to remember your light/dark mode choice. Stored locally.
We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
8. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — you can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Right to export — you can export your data at any time from your Settings page.
- Right to deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data from your Settings page. This permanently removes your account, chat history, tickets, connections, and uploaded files.
- Right to rectification — you can update your account information from your Settings page.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days, including your profile, chat history, generated tickets, platform connections, and uploaded files.
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the service. Your continued use of Parsely after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
